Frequently Asked Questions
What is my life purpose?
Your purpose is found in what attracts your attention, what you do effortlessly, and what is going on in the moment. Being on purpose is being present in each moment.
Life purpose is not a job title! You may have taken birth to develop a characteristic like tolerance, compassion, openness, integrity, perseverance, or forgiveness. You may have taken birth to work out some unresolved business with a mate, parent, or offspring.

I know there is something that I'm supposed to be doing, but what is my next step?
You already have a purpose that is driving your life.  The obstacles and problems you are facing right now, are there to help you open up to what you need to learn or work through.  All your life issues are about increasing your capacity to love and open your heart.  Wisdom is the fruit you are seeking, but it only comes when you are not grasping.  Take one step tomorrow.  Then take another.

Sometimes I suggest to people to write down inspirational ideas on index cards and draw one out each day as a reminder of the wisdom you already possess.  Below are a few ideas to get you started.  Keep adding index cards as you find ideas that inspire you.

Everyone has a message for me.
My life purpose is always attracting exactly what I need.
My pace today is just right. Not to fast.  Not too slow.  Just right.
I am always in the right place at the right time.
I choose to be around positive people.
I know there is a purpose in any delay or obstacle.
I let go of things where I am just putting in time.
Whenever I am under stress, I can begin to focus on my breath.
I can let go of the big purpose in life idea and find joy right now, this moment.
I love feeling prosperous and healthy!
I am in love with life.

How can I make a difference in the world?
Aim your genius at a problem that attracts you.  You are already unique because of your natural talents, tendencies, viewpoint, and experiences. You give yourself to others and the world.

What might be stopping me from fulfilling my potential?
Typically, we sabotage ourselves by:

Accepting our "lot" in life as final.
Holding on to grudges and resentments.
Thinking we are a "victim of circumstances."
Blaming others. Waiting for others to change.
Too much planning and control.
Refusing to see the purpose in obstacles.
Believing that we are trapped, inadequate, or powerless.

For a quick analysis of where you are losing power, refer to page 231 of The Purpose of Your Life.

So what can I do?

The best way to make your life count and thereby fulfill your destiny is to make choices based on your authentic self.  This is what we call the purpose-driven life.  Finding your purpose is not a destination—it’s a lifelong journey.

Ironically, your purpose is found in each segment of your daily life.  Each part of the day has a purpose  starting with early morning preparations, to moment-to-moment problem-solving and creative activity. Sometimes your purpose is just to let go and let life open your heart. Your purpose is to respond to life with aliveness, curiosity, and the willingness to learn and be changed.

Your purpose is not simply a job title.  It’s who you are.  It’s how you respond to life.  It’s the effect you have on others in daily life.  Each time you make a decision or a choice, your life purpose is present. The purpose of today may involve getting to work on time, listening to someone pour out their problem, guiding your child, sealing a deal, or keeping a commitment to yourself or someone else.   What do you do?  Just go with the flow, but keep tuned to the wisdom of your heart.  This is how you live the purpose-driven life.

In a nutshell:

"Be generous, be patient, be compassionate, be disciplined (committed to doing no harm), and be willing to let go of your need to be right or in control."

In Buddhist terms, this mindful practice is called going to the other shore.

How do numbers effect my life purpose?
According to numerologists, your life was mapped before birth.  The key to understanding what you are here to do and be lies in the qualities of the letters of your name and the numbers of your birthdate. Numbers describe your basic nature, your path of achievement, and your challenges. While no event is completely predestined, the letters of your name are markers of potential events and circumstances.  Your birthdate is a matrix of cycles that give you what you need to develop your soul in this lifetime.
