Passion, Fear, and Law of Attraction

March 2007                        Carol Adrienne, Ph.D.

Law of attraction brings us responses to the energy that we are flowing out from our minds.  Thought creates reality.  I am often asked such questions as, Why don’t I have many synchronicities?  Why am I not moving forward?  How can I deal with my fear when I want to do something new?  Below are two recent email questions; each describe anxieties that surface as we pursue our dreams. To answer, I have done a mini-analysis of each person’s numerological information as provided by their birth name and birthdate (but withheld names for the sake of privacy.)

Bob writes:
“I'm 53 year-old married male who feels like I'm spinning my wheels to find my true direction.  I’ve worked for local government for 20 years. My birth date is 09-16-1953 .
My wife and I also have a horse training business. Six years ago, I began to study equine massage therapy and have had regular clients from time to time. My gut feeling is I would like to be a full-time equine body worker and saddle fitter, but feel like if I leave my current employment, things could get dicey.  Fear keeps me from jumping off the diving board. Our finances aren't great and that little bell keeps me from the gung-ho  business mentality.

My biggest fear is not being able to adequately support myself. The biggest self talk is ‘I'm failing to be responsible.’  People will say, ‘You're 53 and haven't made it yet.’  I don't see myself succeeding - merely just surviving. I also doubt my capabilities – ‘Am I good enough at what I do?’ (equine massage)  Being a healer appears to be the fire in the belly for me.  Any help in getting my compass straight would be appreciated.

Dear Bob,
Believe it or not, trust is your central life lesson according to what I see from your chart.  I don’t often focus on past life issues, but in your case there are several indications that you are working on repercussions from a past life.  I don’t know, but perhaps in another lifetime, you may have attempted something, it went wrong, and you were held responsible.  As I say, I don’t often get this feeling, but in your case, my first impression is that now, in this lifetime, your soul purpose is to learn to trust your instincts, and release the core belief “I’m not responsible.” Ironically, you have the means to accomplish this purpose by developing your unique and amazing gifts (which I don’t think you fully take responsibility for by acknowledging them.)

Where do I see these things?  First of all you are born on the 16th which is a karmic number, often indicating that you can be a catalyst for change through developing expertise in a tranformative or esoteric area.  Since 16 also refers to issues of trust, betrayal, disappointments, you may feel sensitive to making a mistake or “jumping off into the unknown.” If too gullible, you may get your fingers burned, of course, and then feel betrayed by someone or circumstances.  But once you learn to follow the passion within you, you recognize it for the perfect navigator that it is.

You also have a 7 Birth Path (from your total birthday)—which, again, emphasizes that  you are gifted with deep intuition and possibly the ability to communicate telepathically with animals (I’m not kidding!) Furthermore, you have another 16 (7), derived from counting the letters in your name—again reinforcing the emphasis on intuition, spirituality, and trust.  Finally, your only missing letter (which is the area of most growth and transformation) in your name is once again 7—learning to trust that life will support your dreams!
Your Destiny is another karmic number 13/4—which requires you to persevere until you break through all obstacles, and transform a situation into health and wholeness (and 4 is very  much grounded when it works on structural or physical matters—such as the equine massage.)  Four also demands that you be practical, (thus your choice of a secure job in local government.)  You are an “old soul” who has asked to work on the exact issues you have in your life—and to let go of limitations produced by fear.

Your fears and self-doubts create  resistance in your energy field, which prevents the full flow from law of attraction. Your thoughts are actually pushing away the abundance that’s waiting to come in.

My advice: First, build up a larger charge of energy by increasing your love and passion for the horses, before you make career decisions like leaving your current job. Second, commit to doing what you do best, and stop creating black and white scenario—to leave completely or stay completely. To honor your practical side, make incremental changes to your schedule to get more time for horse work.
Third, let go of the need to keep having that conversation about starving to death or not supporting yourself or not being further ahead at 53.  Acknowledge that voice, but let it know it doesn’t need to run your life, thank you very much. (Actually, 7’s are late bloomers because they need time to develop their specialty.)

Fourth, on a practical note, get serious with your wife about what your financial needs really are.  Vagueness in money creates fear.  Confront it, and then write down what you want to make in the next six months from the horse business. Let law of attraction get to work on what you want, not what you don’t want.  That is your job.  You don’t have to figure out how it’s going to happen.

You’ve been in a safe harbor for twenty years. Don’t expect yourself to quit cold turkey until you are ready.  What makes you ready is more passion and a little more success with clients.  Once you let the universe know that you are serious about healing the horses who need you, clients are going to come out of the woods.

Your chart shows both a “line of independent talent” and the “line of success.”  I cannot convince you of your special talents (if you aren’t good enough at equine massage, who is???) Self-deprecating postulates such as, “I’m not being responsible,” are usually conclusions you made from something that happened either early in childhood or before you were born.
What do you think now?  Do you still want to hang on to this story?

My second email is from Daisy:
My name is (Daisy) born  7/3/67.  I’m a 39 yr old single woman living in Northern California. I left my corporate job in 2006 after 7 years. I made a commitment to pursue my heart’s desire, which is to work in the field of human development.  I have been leaning into various fields such as executive coaching or organizational consulting, but what I find are my voices of limiting thoughts. I start to disqualify myself because I don’t have experience in this field and am not sure that I will enjoy it.  These disqualifying thoughts have been debilitating and keep me from stepping forward into a career that is in line with my heart.  Any advice on moving past this heavy roadblock?

Thank you, Daisy!
Your mind is a fabulous thing!  Actually in looking at your name, I see that you have what we call the “line of the head” and also the “line of success.”  Your head line shows that you can learn anything that interests you, especially when you feel it is for the good of others.  Complementing this natural responsibility factor, you have a lot of “6 energy” in your numerology chart.  Both your Birth Path and your Ultimate Goal are 6—the loyal supporter.  I would say that you are a born teacher-advisor, whose destiny is to affect as many people as you can (you have a 9 Destiny—the number of healing, serving, or educating the masses.)  Therefore, your destiny would unfold naturally in a large corporation or organization, where you can help others develop their strengths, or foster team building by putting the right people in the right job.

This year, you left the powerful energy of the previous nine years of “8,” (8= money, power, authority) which obviously developed your knowledge in business and taught you “how things really work.”  In 2007 you are entering an even higher vibration of the 9 for another nine years.  This coincides perfectly with your 9 Destiny.  Instead of trying to figure out where to go to find work using a merely rational strategy, a better use of your time would be to train your mind into releasing the doubts and self-deprecating thoughts (whose purpose is to keep  “safe in your comfort zone.”)

Review how you got into your previous work situations.  Didn’t you also have some feelings of inadequacy in those early days? Yet your innate desire to do your best spurred you on to quickly pick up what you needed.  Focus on making a bridge from those previous successes to this new time of development.

Synchronicity is always waiting to open a door.  Concentrate on having a fortuitous introduction to the “right people” every single day.  Keep that thought.  Fill your mind with how happy you will be to work with good people who love your work.  Get the picture?  It’s about love, energy, and gratitude right now until the door opens.

By the way, your most predominate life challenge is symbolized by the number 2—both as a karmic lesson (you have no 2’s in your name) and as an life-long challenge starting at age 31.  The 2 challenge usually means that you feel more confident when you have a cohort, mentor, or supporter to help you gain access to the realms you wish to enter.  A 2 challenge says,  “be sensitive and listen to others, but don’t lose yourself in fears and timidity or self-doubt.” Who comes to mind who could be a lead?  Develop your network.

On another note, you might find that writing articles or doing some public speaking to other like-minded people in your industry will suddenly boost your confidence level to counteract those inner voices (and put you in the path of possibilities.)  You might also begin to flush those voices out (and down the drain) by writing out all your fears and doubts in a stream-of-consciousness method (try it for a month, ten minutes a day.)

Right now, I suggest you keep exploring and writing down exactly what you love about the work you want to do. (If you aren’t sure you are going to love the organizational work, don’t worry about that now.  It’s the best intuitive lead you have at this time, so go with it.)
Keep reading inspirational books and attending seminars to deepen your understanding from many points of view (your philosophical, spiritual, and integrative 9 Destiny will love that!)  Find out “what works” from different authors, and make a large flow chart of ideas, methods, and techniques with which you resonate.  This type of focus is powerful on both practical and energetic levels.  Love is the energetic telephone line to the universe. Law of attraction must match your passions (and answer your questions!)  Bon voyage.
Happy March!
